So Shelly by Ty Roth

I just borrowed this book from my friend, Veneremeix. This is his sister's book and he was really the one to read it. But, I borrowed it with matching Oh-Please-Let-Me-Borrow-It look. So he was forced to lend it.

This book was about Michelle "Shelly" Shelley, a very rich girl who died with a very young age because of "drowning". Many said that it was just an accident so the case was immediately closed. Her father decided to put her funeral in their school campus so that her friends will be able to see her. Then her bestfriends, John Keats and Byron Gordon, stole her ashes and bring it to the place where her body was washed away and found, the place, according to Gordon, the place where she wanted her ashes to be returned. As they navigate into the Island Erie, they were faced to different obtacles and temptations. They were also able to share every shattered memory of Shelly and glue them up, making a puzzle out of her memories. Those memories they gathered up is the only way to answer their questions: How she died? Why she died? What is the message for her death?

It's possible that So Shelly  is the smartest YA novel you will ever read. The writing is sharp and edgy. The premise is intelligent and engaging. But the story? It'll blow you away. The romance is very intense. and what's good about it is that it covered the contemporary issues of sexuality, dysfunctional families, suicide, poverty, racism, alcohol and drug use, the hidden costs of popularity and fame, and friendship and while exploring themes of death, dying, grief, abandonment, abuse, and belonging.

This is totally my Favorite Book!
